100K Funded Account in 2026: Prices and Rules Compared

New to funded trading?

Explore

A $100K funded account costs between about $330 and $770 in a one-time fee at the main prop firms in October 2026. Velotrade's PRO 1-Step $100K is $558 and its CLASSIC 2-Step $100K is $769. FundedNext charges $549.99, FTMO €540, The5ers $405, and Breakout Prop $330 for its tightest plan.

The fee is only part of the picture. At $100,000, every percentage in the rules becomes a large dollar number: a 3% floor is $3,000, a 10% floor is $10,000. This guide compares nine firms on their $100K and $50K prices, targets, daily loss and max drawdown in dollars, refunds and splits, all read from each firm's own site in October 2026. It then works through what a $100K account can realistically pay you, and when a smaller account is the better buy.

Highlights of this article

  • One-time $100K prices run from $330 (Breakout Turbo) to $769 (Velotrade CLASSIC 2-Step); Topstep charges $99 a month for its $100K futures Combine
  • At $100K, a 3% static max drawdown means one fixed floor at $97,000; a 10% static floor sits at $90,000
  • Bigger accounts are cheaper per dollar of funding ($55.80 per $10K for Velotrade PRO $100K vs $74 at $10K), but each failed attempt costs more
  • $50K accounts cost roughly 55% to 65% of the $100K price and suit traders still proving a process
  • A 4% month on a $100K account at an 80% split is $3,200 before any payout cap; that is a good month, not a typical one
  • Early payout caps and first payout timing decide when, and how much, you actually get paid at this size

Two things to read into the table. First, a refund changes your real cost only if you pass and get paid. Second, the cheapest $100K plans (Breakout Turbo and Velotrade PRO) carry the tightest floors, so the low fee buys only $3,000 of room.

What the drawdown means in dollars at $100K

Trader at a desk with several monitors showing price charts and an account balance
At $100K, the max drawdown is a dollar floor. Know exactly where it sits before your first trade.

Percentages hide how the floor behaves. Here is how the main models play out on a $100,000 account:

Drawdown model Where the floor starts After you close a day at $102,000 Room left at $102,000
3% static (Velotrade PRO, Breakout Turbo) $97,000 Still $97,000 $5,000
10% static (Velotrade CLASSIC 2-Step, FTMO, FundedNext) $90,000 Still $90,000 $12,000
10% end-of-day trailing (illustration) $90,000 $92,000 $10,000
$3,000 end-of-day trailing (Topstep $100K) $97,000 $99,000 $3,000

A static floor is fixed from your starting balance and never moves, so every dollar of profit adds to your buffer. A trailing floor follows your best closing balance, so profit does not buy you room in the same way. Our guide to static maximum drawdown covers this in detail.

The daily loss limit sits on top of the max drawdown. At Velotrade it resets at 00:30 UTC from the higher of your balance or equity. On a PRO $100K account with $102,000 equity at the reset, the daily limit is 3% of $102,000, so equity cannot fall below $98,940 that day. The static $97,000 floor still applies underneath.

What this means for sizing: with a $3,000 floor, risking 0.5% per trade ($500) gives you six full losses before the account ends. With a $10,000 floor, the same $500 risk gives you twenty.

Is a $100K account worth it, or should you start smaller?

Rules are set in percentages, so a 10% target on $100K is no harder in percentage terms than a 10% target on $10K. What changes is the fee you lose on a failed attempt, and how it feels to watch a $3,000 swing.

Larger accounts are cheaper per dollar of funding. Velotrade PRO costs $74 at $10K ($74 per $10K), $305 at $50K ($61 per $10K) and $558 at $100K ($55.80 per $10K). But your cost to get funded is the fee times the attempts you need. The pass chances below are assumptions to show the maths, not Velotrade pass rates:

Plan Fee Assumed chance per attempt Average attempts Expected cost to pass
PRO 1-Step $10K $74 1 in 3 3 $222
PRO 1-Step $100K $558 1 in 3 3 $1,674
CLASSIC 2-Step $100K $769 1 in 2 2 $1,538
PRO 1-Step $100K $558 1 in 2 2 $1,116

Two takeaways. If your odds are low, a $100K attempt mostly buys you a bigger loss. And if the wider floor genuinely raises your pass chance, the dearer CLASSIC 2-Step can be the cheaper route to $100K. Put your own numbers into the challenge pass calculator before you choose.

A sensible order: pass a small account, take at least one payout, then buy the $100K with a process you have already tested under the same rules. Our guide to 5K and 10K funded accounts covers the small end.

$50K: the middle ground

A $50K account costs roughly 55% to 65% of the $100K price: $305 for Velotrade PRO, $419 for CLASSIC 2-Step, €345 at FTMO, $299.99 at FundedNext, $249 at FundingPips and $180 for Breakout Turbo. You give up half the payout potential, but you can buy close to two $50K attempts for the price of one $100K.

That makes $50K a fair choice if you are profitable on paper but have not yet passed a challenge, or if a $3,000 drawdown on a $100K PRO account would change how you trade. On a $50K PRO account the floor is $48,500, and a 4% month is $2,000 before the split.

What a $100K funded account can realistically earn

Funded accounts at these firms are simulated. Your payout is a share of the simulated profit, so the only number that matters is the return you can repeat.

Worked example on a Velotrade PRO $100K account, simulated:

Month Return Gross simulated profit Your share at 80% Your share at 90% (add-on)
Strong month 4% $4,000 $3,200 $3,600
Steady month 2% $2,000 $1,600 $1,800
Losing month Negative $0 $0 $0

A steady 2% a month is a good result for most discretionary traders, and many funded accounts end in a breach rather than a payout. On PRO, a 3% decline from the start closes the account. So a realistic year is a mix of payouts and at least one new fee. Model your own break-even with the challenge ROI calculator.

Payout caps and first payout timing at $100K

At this size, the cap on early payouts matters as much as the split:

  • Velotrade: first payout after 14 days, then weekly, in USDC or USDT, processed within 24 hours. The first and second payouts are capped at 20 times the challenge fee you paid ($11,160 on a $558 PRO $100K, less if you used a discount code). From the third payout there is no cap. Each payout withdraws the full balance, and the static floor stays where it was set.
  • The5ers: the $100K High Stakes account lists a $4,000 payout cap and a $500 minimum, with the first payout 14 days after funding and then every two weeks.
  • FundedNext: on the standard option, the first withdrawal comes after 21 days, then every 14 days. The on-demand option pays 90% but adds a 40% consistency requirement.
  • Breakout Prop: on-demand payouts with a $50 minimum, paid in USDC.

Check the cap against your plan. If you expect a large first month, a low cap can cost more than a higher fee.

Scaling beyond $100K

Most firms sell accounts above $100K. Velotrade's PRO 1-Step goes up to $200K for $1,114, and FTMO, FundedNext, HyroTrader and Alpha Capital all list $200K sizes. A larger account doubles the dollar floor and the payout potential, but also the fee you lose on a breach.

A second route is to hold more than one $100K account, where the firm allows it, or to grow through a firm's scaling plan. If you are ready for the top size, see our funded trading account up to $200K page.

Which 100K funded account should you pick?

Lowest fee: Breakout Turbo ($330) and The5ers ($405), both with tight floors or caps.

Lowest net cost if you expect to pass: a refund. FTMO, FundedNext, The5ers and HyroTrader return the fee once you reach their payout or funded stage.

Most room for your money: a 10% static floor at FTMO, FundedNext or Velotrade CLASSIC 2-Step.

Crypto, forex and stocks on one account with no consistency rule: Velotrade PRO at $558, or CLASSIC 2-Step if $3,000 of room is too tight. Codes for every firm are in our prop firm discount codes guide.
