1-Step Challenge: A single-phase evaluation with a 10% profit target.

Both challenge types have no time limit. CLASSIC is available from $5k to $100k, and PRO 1-Step is available from $5k to $200k.

Which EAs and bots can I use?

Two categories are permitted: strategies you have built yourself, and commercially available EAs and bots that anyone can purchase off the shelf. The test is whether the service is genuinely open to the public. A paid EA or signal service delivered through a website, application, Telegram channel or Discord server is permitted where subscription is open to anyone on standard terms. Private, exclusive, invitation only or selectively restricted services are not permitted, and neither are signals created specifically for you or your account. Velotrade may ask you to identify the source of your strategy and confirm you are the one operating the account.

Who is responsible for my automated trading activity?

You are. Every order placed on your account is your responsibility, whether manual or automated. Velotrade may ask you to verify that the strategy is your own work or a commercially available product, and that you are the operator of the account. Failure to respond, or evidence that the account is being run by a third party or as part of a coordinated group, will result in the account being closed.

Can I use the API for copy trading?

Copy trading is permitted only between accounts you personally own. You may mirror trades across your own Velotrade accounts. Copying trades from another trader, or having your trades copied by other traders, is not permitted. Independently subscribing to a public signal service or commercial Expert Advisor is a separate matter and is permitted: multiple subscribers acting on the same public signals is not, by itself, treated as copy trading.

Can I run third party signal services or external signal feeds?

Only if the signal service is commercially available to anyone who chooses to subscribe. The use of a group or channel does not make a service private: a Telegram channel or Discord server is permitted where subscription is genuinely open to the public on standard terms. Private, exclusive, invitation only or selectively restricted feeds are not permitted, and neither are bespoke signals created for you or your account. You remain fully responsible for every order placed on your account, regardless of the signal source.

What happens if my bot or EA breaches a limit?

Automated systems are treated exactly like manual trading. If your bot breaches the daily loss limit or maximum drawdown, the account is closed on the same basis as a manual breach. There is no leniency for automated activity. Your system must monitor live equity and halt before any limit is hit.

How many trading days are required to pass the challenge phase?

You must complete at least 5 qualifying trading days. They do not need to be consecutive. A trading day counts only if you close it with realised profit of 0.8% or more of the starting account balance. The same 5 day requirement applies on the funded account before your first payout, with the count resetting to zero when the funded account begins.

No. A trading day is counted when you close a qualifying trade that generates at least 0.8% profit. Simply holding an existing position overnight does not add additional trading days to your count. For example, if you open a trade on Monday and hold it until Wednesday without closing it, you have recorded zero trading days. You only record a trading day when you close the trade with at least 0.8% profit.

Service may also be subject to scheduled maintenance periods, which will be communicated through the company's distribution channel(s).

All Velotrade challenges use a static maximum drawdown: a fixed dollar floor set on account activation, calculated as a percentage below your starting balance. It does not move whether the account grows or shrinks.

- CLASSIC 2-Step: 10% below the starting balance, recalculated to the new balance at the start of Phase 2.
- CLASSIC 1-Step: 7% below the starting balance.
- PRO 1-Step: 3% below the starting balance.

For example, on a $100,000 CLASSIC 1-Step account the floor is fixed at $93,000. You can always see your exact drawdown level on the platform dashboard.

Does floating PnL affect my drawdown?

No. All challenges now use a static maximum drawdown, a fixed dollar floor set at account activation from your starting balance. It does not move with your equity, so unrealised gains or losses from open positions have no effect on it. There is no High Water Mark and no moving target.

For example, on a $100,000 CLASSIC 1-Step account the floor is fixed at $93,000 for the life of the account, regardless of intraday swings.

Do payouts or trading losses affect my maximum drawdown limit?

The daily loss limit resets every day at 00:30 UTC and is recalculated from the higher of your balance or your equity at that time, so each trading day begins with a clean slate. This applies to all challenges.

The maximum drawdown does not reset. It is a static dollar floor set at account activation and does not move for the life of the account. On CLASSIC 2-Step it is recalculated to the new starting balance when Phase 2 begins.

How is daily drawdown calculated?

Your daily loss limit is designed to give you clear, predictable boundaries each trading day. It resets every day at 00:30 UTC and is set from the higher of your balance or your equity at that moment.

- CLASSIC 2-Step: 5%.
- CLASSIC 1-Step: 4%.
- PRO 1-Step: 3%.

Balance counts closed trades only. Equity also includes floating profit or loss on open positions. Once the limit is set, it is monitored against your live equity until the next reset.

Example: on a CLASSIC 2-Step 100k account, your balance at 00:30 UTC is $105,000 and an open position has $8,000 of floating profit, so your equity is $113,000. The higher figure is $113,000, so your 5% daily loss limit is $5,650 and the breach floor is $107,350.

Formula: $113,000 × 95% = $107,350.

If your open positions are at a loss at 00:30 UTC, your balance is the higher figure and the limit is set from your balance.

Does floating profit increase my daily loss limit?

Yes. At 00:30 UTC your limit is set from the higher of your balance or your equity. If an open position is in profit at that moment, your equity is the higher figure, so the limit is set from your equity, floating profit included. That raises the dollar size of the limit, and it also raises your breach floor.

Example: on a CLASSIC 2-Step 100k account, your balance is $105,000 and an open position has $8,000 of floating profit, so your equity is $113,000. The 5% limit is set from $113,000, so the breach floor is $107,350 ($113,000 × 95%). If the position gives back more than $5,650 before the next reset, the account breaches, even though equity is still above your balance.
