Which EAs and bots can I use?

Two categories are permitted: strategies you have built yourself, and commercially available EAs and bots that anyone can purchase off the shelf. Private, exclusive, or group shared bots and signal feeds are not permitted. Velotrade may ask you to identify the source of your strategy and confirm you are the one operating the account.

Who is responsible for my automated trading activity?

You are. Every order placed on your account is your responsibility, whether manual or automated. Velotrade may ask you to verify that the strategy is your own work or a commercially available product, and that you are the operator of the account. Failure to respond, or evidence that the account is being run by a third party or as part of a coordinated group, will result in the account being closed.

Can I use the API for copy trading?

Copy trading is permitted only between accounts you personally own. You may mirror trades across your own Velotrade accounts. Copying trades from another trader, or having your trades copied by other traders, is not permitted.

Can I run third party signal services or external signal feeds?

Only if the signal service is commercially available to anyone who chooses to subscribe. Private, exclusive, or group only signal feeds are not permitted. You remain fully responsible for every order placed on your account, regardless of the signal source.

What happens if my bot or EA breaches a limit?

Automated systems are treated exactly like manual trading. If your bot breaches the daily loss limit or maximum drawdown, the account is closed on the same basis as a manual breach. There is no leniency for automated activity. Your system must monitor live equity and halt before any limit is hit.

No. A trading day is counted when you close a qualifying trade that generates at least 0.5% profit. Simply holding an existing position overnight does not add additional trading days to your count. For example, if you open a trade on Monday and hold it until Wednesday without closing it, you have recorded zero trading days. You only record a trading day when you close the trade with at least 0.5% profit.

You trade in a simulated environment that replicates live market conditions using real-time price feeds. The funds in your evaluation account are notional and have no real economic value. This allows you to demonstrate your trading skills without risking real capital.

Classic is our original challenge family, available as 1-Step or 2-Step, with account sizes from $5,000 to $200,000 and a trailing maximum drawdown that moves up with your equity highs. Pro is a new 1-Step format with a static maximum drawdown calculated on the starting balance. It is designed for disciplined traders who want a simpler, fully predictable breach floor. At launch, Pro is available on the $5,000 account only.

What is a static maximum drawdown?

A static maximum drawdown is a fixed dollar floor. On a Pro $5,000 account, the drawdown limit is $4,850, or 3% below the starting balance. This floor is set on account activation and never moves, whether your account grows or shrinks. By contrast, a trailing drawdown is calculated on the highest end of day equity and moves up with profits.

All payouts are full withdrawals: you withdraw your entire balance each time. The first and second payouts are capped at 20× the challenge fee you paid. Any amount above the cap is forfeited. From the third payout onward, there is no cap. Partial withdrawals are not available. Following each payout, the funded account balance resets to the initial starting balance of the funded account for your convenience. On Classic accounts, the High Water Mark resets with it. On Pro accounts, the static maximum drawdown floor is unchanged, because it was set at activation and does not move.

Yes. Velotrade charges a daily funding fee of 0.05% on the notional value of any position that remains open at 00:30 UTC. The fee is deducted from your account balance shortly after that time each day, including weekends.

This applies to all challenge and funded accounts. There is no difference based on whether you are long or short as the rate is flat and the same for all instruments.

The funding fee is disclosed upfront and is the only recurring cost beyond the per-trade commission of 0.03% per side. There are no hidden charges.
