Velotrade leverage on BTC: 10x in the challenge, 5x when funded.
Notional value: 10,000.00 USDT
Use 0 for a trade closed before the next charge. On Velotrade that is one charge per 00:30 UTC the position is open.
Prices are examples. Replace them with the live price from your platform.
How this maps to Velotrade: crypto commission is 0.03% of notional per side, and instead of a variable funding rate a flat 0.05% of notional is charged on any position open at 00:30 UTC, long or short. Leverage is set per coin: BTC 10x in the challenge and 5x funded, ETH and SOL 6x and 5x, mid caps such as XRP, BNB and DOGE 3x and 2x, and most other coins 2x. Prices track KuCoin USDT perpetuals. Velotrade is a simulated evaluation, so these figures are for planning and education.

How to use this calculator
Describe the trade

Set leverage and costs
Choose the leverage and the fee per side. Add the number of funding or overnight charges if you plan to hold the position.
Read the result
You get net PnL in USDT, return on the margin used (ROE), the fees and funding paid, and the breakeven exit price.
What these numbers mean
The crypto futures profit formula, with examples
For a short, the price move is Entry minus Exit. Fees are the fee rate times the notional on entry plus the notional on exit. Funding is the rate per period times the entry notional times the number of periods. Leverage does not change the dollar PnL for a given quantity. It changes how much margin you post, so it changes the ROE and how close the position sits to liquidation.
BTC long, 0.1 BTC at 100,000, closed at 105,000, 10x
- The position is worth 10,000 USDT, so 10x leverage needs 1,000 USDT of margin.
- The 5% move is a gross profit of 500 USDT. Fees at 0.03% per side on 10,000 and 10,500 are 6.15 USDT.
- Net PnL is 493.85 USDT, an ROE of about 49.4% on the margin. The breakeven exit is about 100,060.
The same trade held for three days
- A flat 0.05% overnight charge on the 10,000 USDT notional is 5 USDT a day, or 15 USDT over three days.
- Net PnL falls to 478.85 USDT and the ROE to about 47.9%.
- The breakeven exit moves up to about 100,210, because the price now has to cover fees and holding costs.
ETH short, 5,000 USDT at 4,000, price rises to 4,100, 5x
- 5,000 USDT at 4,000 is 1.25 ETH, with 1,000 USDT of margin at 5x.
- The 100 point rise is a gross loss of 125 USDT, and fees add about 3.04 USDT.
- Net PnL is about minus 128.04 USDT, an ROE of about minus 12.8%. A 2.5% move against you cost 12.8% of the margin.
