Gianluca's fascination with trading started in secondary school, when his accounting teacher introduced him to the markets. It was the early days of online trading, the market was wild. You could almost see retail traders being crushed by institutional flows in all-liquidity names. That experience taught him something early: managing emotions is far more important than technical skill. How many so-called gurus appear skilled on paper, yet never show you a live trading session?

He began his career on the derivatives trading desk at Dresdner Kleinwort in London, before founding and running a proprietary HFT firm trading FX and equity indices out of Singapore. In 2016, he founded Velotrade in Hong Kong and scaled it to over $2.5 billion in disbursements worldwide.

When not busy at work, you'll find him enjoying time in nature, travelling, or contemplating the philosophies of Buddhist living.
